Sageview Capital LP Announces 2020 Promotions

Sageview Capital LP, a private investment firm focused on providing growth capital and operational support to leading tech-enabled businesses, is excited to announce the promotions of Mike McClure and Jake Colognesi to Partner and Roberto Avila to Principal.

Each of these individuals has contributed significantly to the firm and to our portfolio companies in their time at Sageview. They have demonstrated a track record of leadership, innovative thinking, and excellence. We look forward to the continued contributions each will have to our team and our companies.

Promotion to Partner

Mike McClure – Mike McClure initially joined Sageview in 2011 and returned to the firm in 2015 after receiving his M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Mike is actively involved in the firm’s investments in Aceable, CallRail, Demandbase, Pantheon, and Womply. Prior to joining Sageview, Mike spent 3 years at New York-based Trilantic Capital Partners, where he focused on investing in leading growth-stage companies across North America. Mike holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder and an M.B.A from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Jake Colognesi – Jake Colognesi joined Sageview in 2019 and is actively involved in the firm’s investments in National Arbitration and Mediation (NAM) and XSELL Technologies. Prior to joining Sageview, Jake worked at Volition Capital where he was actively involved in both enterprise and consumer investments. He started his career in the software group at Cowen and Company and thereafter as a growth equity investor at Fidelity Ventures. Jake received a B.S. in Economics from Colby College and an M.B.A. from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

Promotion to Principal

Roberto Avila – Roberto Avila joined Sageview in 2015 and is a board observer at Theatro and is also actively involved in the firm’s investments in CallRail and ElasticPath. Prior to joining Sageview, Roberto was an Analyst at Lazard Frères, where he worked on a variety of M&A transactions and strategic advisory engagements, primarily in the technology and telecom sectors. Roberto graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Economics (Wharton School).
